History of Chinese Kuoshu 中国功夫历史
Chinese Kuoshu 中国功夫, pronounce "Khoo~Shoo ", is a combination of Northern and Southern Chinese Gung Fu Martial Arts. In the north eastern region of Beijing, China, is also known as WuShu. The exact history and origin of
Gung Fu is often disputed and continues to be a major topic for discussion for it's historical value and for it's rich
martial art ventures. The history of mainland China can be traced as far back as the 16th Century B.C. during the Shang Dynasty. The Shang is considered the First true dynasty of China, consisting of 31 kings and seven different successive capitals. The common practice of high rituals were worshiped as part of the Shang Dynasty religion. The most significant event was that this dynasty began the Bronze Age.
(1700 B.C.)
The initial Chinese martial art recorded dates back to around 525 A.D., during the Liang Dynasty. The individual most credited to introduce martial arts to China is said to be an Indian monk known as Bodhidarma or Buddha. (506-556 A.D.)
Kung Fu, as it is referred to in the Western civilization, means simply skill, or ability, adept in the fighting arts.
It is composed of a number of martially inspired systems for body development, personal confidence, better focus, health conditions, self defense, cultural dance, and for it's fighting abilities.
Bodhidarma , developed a set of "18-movement exercises " or most commonly known as the 18 Luo_Han hand movements 十八罗汉拳. This has been documented in historic facts and remains a favorite in Chinese cultures.
Under the direct significant instruction and teachings of Si_Gung Thom W. Louie 师公雷泽鸿 , each student is provided and given immediate instruction to perhaps one of the most popular Gung Fu styles in the world, "Choy Lay Fut ".
This unique martial art style imitates and represents Five (5) different animal forms:
_Dragon ; _Tiger/Crane ; _Snake ; _Leopard ; and _the "famous Panther-Fist "
The animal sounds that is verbally and facially expressed, and the physical nature of each of their natural prowess gives this powerful style one of the most complete system in the world. The Choy Lay Fut family system has produced some of the most famous practitioners in the history of martial arts that will be further discussed in the research materials.

The early years . . .
Chinese Kuoshu
multiple Animal Forms
Si_Gung Thom W. Louie 师公雷泽鸿 , development, exposure and introduction to Chinese Martial Arts began very
early in his youth. He was a very free-spirited and active young boy in the early part of his childhood in the 1950s. He
had much to say and did not shy away from asking "why"? Si_Gung Louie was the middle child (4 other siblings), in a
very structural and traditional family. Both parents were originally from the southern province of Guangdong, China. The early settlers had already made a huge impact during the California Gold Rush of 1849 (1848-1855) . After World War II (1945+), immigration to America was the dream of many countrymen from mainland China. This dream was also part of the beginning of the Louie (雷) family. Si_Gung Thom W. Louie's father was the main provider and voice in the family's uprearing. Mr. Louie the father, a self-made man, was well versed in current affairs, as well as his knowledge of facts and fiction. The mother's focus and responsibility was to give each child warm clothing, food to eat, and ensure a healthy mind by keeping up with their education. note: The families that immigrated to America had preserved their customs and traditional values to their new adopted home. We like many families, with the lack of the American language and perhaps out-of-necessity, maintained and survived within our own cultural circles. Unfortunately, this caused many disparities and created secret societies for existence.
This phrase comes directly from his mother, " of all my children, Thom (泽鸿) was the faster learner, mouth included ". From the time Si_Gung Louie was able to exhibit his first athletic abilities, his father knew that he needed more than just a few basic lessons for him to set forth to what is now a reality. He showed promise in many other sports, ranging from soccer, football, running track, and American boxing. His initial exposure to the Far Eastern Arts was his vision of watching a "uncle" practicing the internal martial art of "T'ai Chi Ch'uan". As Si_Gung Louie's early martial art development improved (1959+), his mental and physical temperament has also changed. This transition and thought process has given to him, the tools necessary to grow as a student practitioner of martial arts.

M'uay Th'ai_traditional Th'ai Boxing
tradl M'uay Th'ai Boxing
Thailand's (Southeast Asia) unique national sport is highly realistic. Many techniques are inspired by battle stories from the "Ramakien ". The immediate impact is displayed from the strong physical exercises and from each of the colorful thespian's entrance into the ring of competition. However, the more heavy emphasis is placed upon their religious and spiritual beliefs. Since the early 1990's the popularity of mix-martial-arts "MMA" has achieved great interests among fighters of many disciplines throughout the world. Leading the direction(s) were previous fighters to preserve the culture and traditions for future generations.
M'uay Th'ai 泰拳 is referred to us as the "Art of Eight Limbs ", or the "Science of Eight Limbs ", because it makes use of individual punches, kicks,
elbows, and knee strikes, thus using the "eight points of contacts ".
Th'ai Boxing, or "kick-boxing " exerts parts of the body not used in Western boxing, such as the feet and the elbows. This rigorous training starts boys as
young as 6 years old and retires the young men as early as 25 years of age.
The interests of "Th'ai Boxing " has drawn many young female practitioners
as well. It was once considered an art of deadly consequences, but can now be recognized as an art form to complement good health exercises. The practitioner
of M'uay Th'ai is known as nak muay. Western practitioners are known as nak muay farang, meaning " foreign boxer ". The student is reminded to concentrate
and placed their immediate focus and strict attention to the initial training techniques.
Please Note: The special classes as listed above are designed for ages and genders for ALL interested and perspective students and practitioners. Each student will advance on their own merit and abilities as they improve and progress. Basic fundamental techniques with strong emphasis on natural common sense is encouraged.
However, it is the discretion of the Si_Gung 师公(GrandMaster) to make the final decision if you are considered
not physically and/or mentally fit to enrolled in any of these class session(s). The M'uay Th'ai Boxing would required
some prior training in the form of an exercise class or program that stresses continuous movements with cardio emphasis to be considered for this private program. All inquiries will be answered and responded directly from the Si_Gung (GrandMaster) prior to your FIRST scheduled lesson. . . Highly recommended the "Art of Eight Limbs"
